“I’m not sure TNT ever had a chance. TNT matched the money. The league knows Amazon and these tech companies are the only ones willing to pay for the rights when they double in the future. The NBA didn’t want to piss them off.”

This is because the NBA Announced a new deal for 11-year agreements to live games on the Amazon Prime platform, Disney, and NBA/Peacock.
Before this Warner Bros cable channel TNT hosted all NBA games for four decades since 1989 as well as famous shows like “Inside the NBA,” an Emmy-award winning show hosted by Barkley, Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith.

- Amazon Prime Video: Amazon secured rights to distribute NBA games globally, enhancing the fan experience starting in 2025
So, approximately 75 regular-season games will now be available on broadcast TV each season, a significant increase from the current agreement
